In this video, a bricolage of styles and musical approaches in early projects with Operaimprovisatörerna (OI) are presented.
In this example, OI plays with a musical style inspired by atonal music in a scene conducted with the ABC technique. In this technique, each improviser needs to use the next letter of the Swedish alphabet in the beginning of their next vocal line in the scene.
In the work in Impromans, we often work in musical styles inspired by music from the 20th century, such as Giacomo Puccini, Richard Strauss and Giancarlo Menotti and Claude Debussy. In this example I was inspired to sing in French by Conny Antonov’s playing in a tonal language reminding me of impressionism.
